The Left Back Seat

The back seat on the left side of the car,
Is taken by the person who thinks himself as important so far;
They would go to such lengths for that seat,
As if they are achieving a mean feat;
Make a dash and run ahead of others,
So that the seat is not taken by their colleagues or brothers.

But to be fair, seat offers a strategic advantage,
You can see the driver but he can’t from his vantage;
It is easy to get in-out from the left side,
And offers a big leg room for you to slide.

Subconsciously, the seat is now associated with status,
And ingrained in our minds since we are a fetus;
That the next time you take an Ola or Uber,
Take the left back seat to get the respect you deserve.

PS: This is a sarcastic take on the class differences existing in our society.

It’s my first shot at the poem style writing, please give a hand if you think it’s worth reading.
